DOUBLE BAY

This spacious townhouse had some significant problems, including water related issues, flooring condition, stairs in need of repair and tiling work needing to be upgraded. The townhouse has a large open plan design, and these defects were seriously detracting from it both functionally and in terms of appearance.

Renovation work carried out:

  • It was necessary to deal with the waterproofing issues under timber flooring in living room
  • Remove and realign nailing and relay existing flooring
  • Re-sanding of all floors and finish in satin water-based
  • Repair of stairs to the living room was essential
  • New tiling for external balconies, bedroom and living room
  • Tiling was done over existing old pebblecrete substrate
  • Installed pelmets to the living room and upper bedroom one.

These renovations and repairs highlight the need for renovation to also be considered as proper maintenance and repair functions. The water issues could have been very destructive to the residence and these works prevented risks to both the flooring and the healthy state of the premises.

The lower ground floor had deteriorated to the point of being uninhabitable. It was a treasure of a place, needing the respect and dedication of good restoration work to make it the home it was meant to be.
